Volunteers are a crucial element in building, maintaining, and protecting the Palmetto Trail. Each year thousands of volunteer hours are put forth to create a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience for all Trail users. Trail Volunteers work in a group setting, while Monitors may work independently. Projects are dependent on the needs of the trail in that area. Trail work may include:

Clearing overgrown vegetation on the Trail
Cutting and removing fallen trees to clear a blocked passage
Maintaining and constructing structures such as boardwalks, turnpikes, or puncheons
Removing trash and debris
Updating signage
